Walt Disney World Chocolate Cake Hits The Spot!

Disney Dining | Chocolate Cake Dessert
Because I think these are one of the best little desserts in Walt Disney World, I thought I would post a few pictures of this perfect little treat.  Found at many counter service restaurants (this one in particular was purchased at Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom) this chocolate cake tastes just like Mom’s signature recipe.  It’s very sweet and hits the spot on those days you need a little extra sugar rush to get you through that 10th time on Space Mountain.  Plus, it’s also part of the Disney Dining Plan so you can use your snack credit for it as well!

Ever Visit Walt Disney World’s Main Street Confectionery?

Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom - Main Street Confectionery

One of the more popular food stops during a trip to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has to be the Main Street Confectionery which is located just past the circle on the right side as you start down famed Main Street USA. Conveniently located on the corner as you head towards Cinderella’s Castle, this is a candy shop to beat all candy shops.

If the bright colors and urge to appease your sweet tooth doesn’t draw you in then the sweet aromas of chocolate and freshly baked fudge emanating from the store surely will. In this delectable shop you’ll find everything from cookies, candy and fudge to Disney themed rice krispie treats and all sorts of candied apples. The selection is second to none and everyone in your party is sure to find something they’ll like. You really feel like you’re in a turn-of-the-century hometown confectionery when you walk in the corner door, maybe one like Walt Disney himself visited back in his younger years in Marceline, MO. It’s a place that can’t be missed on your next visit so next time you’re strolling down Main Street do yourself a favor and stop in for some good old fashioned Disney treats.

Disney Turkey Legs UNCOVERED! The Real Secret Behind This Tasty Disney Treat!

Disney Park Food Turkey Leg
Do you snicker and laugh every time you see someone walking around Walt Disney World holding one of those massive ? My wife and I do too. There’s nothing better than sitting back watching someone try and look respectable as they gnaw into this prehistoric looking bone with fat and meat wrapped around it. You can’t help but laugh and sometimes even take a few pictures when they’re not looking! :)

Well, I was reading today and was surprised to hear that Disney sells about 1.5 MILLION turkey legs every year! Just to put that in perspective, that would be about 7 turkey legs for every man, woman and child that lives in Orlando, Florida! Each of these monstrous bird legs weighs in at 1.5 pounds and they supposedly come from 40-50 pound turkeys! So you’re probably thinking ‘hey, it’s Turkey so it has to be good for you.’ Well, if you think that 1,092 calories, about a days worth of fat and two days worth of sodium PER TURKEY LEG is good then you’ll need to go see a nutritionist for a refresher.

But, leave it to Disney to find better and more creative ways to sell odd things. If you would have asked me a few years ago whether I thought the whole turkey leg idea would have worked I probably would have said no. I don’t know whether it’s the taste or whether people just see them and have to try them but whatever it is, it works. For me I just can’t see buying one as I’m not a fan of grizzly looking turkey meat and fat hanging off a bone the size of my forearm. I think I would rather head to the (Magic Kingdom) for their Turkey Sandwich, but that’s just me.

So next time you visit the mouse, unless you’re super hungry and have the metabolism of a 12-year old to burn the calories, I would steer clear of the Turkey Leg. My guess is you could find something better for you if you can resist your prehistoric urge!
